About Me & My Work

My Background
My family and I live in the small coastal town of Dunsborough in the South West of Western Australia. My family settled in Dunsborough in the 1940’s, leaving the town of Busselton behind. So, with strong family bonds across the South West, I have embraced a deep connection to the coastal beauty and textured bush in the area ever since.
I grew up in country WA, learning early to be at one with nature, whether it was exploring and building cubbies in the bush, horse riding along tree lined river beds, or floating in the ocean. I was taught to appreciate and engage with art and nature by my parents, and have followed that path ever since.
I studied my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Visual Art at Curtin University and worked as a community artist for many years, generating and creating projects. 10 years later I completed a Graduate Diploma in Education so that I could elevate my work with communities, adults and young people as an Art Specialist teacher. I have over 30 years’ experience working as a visual art practitioner, arts project manager, arts worker, and specialist teacher.
