Boranup Morning
Boranup Morning - Original Acrylic on Canvas
I arose early one morning and headed down to the Boranup Forest to capture the morning light coming through the trees. I wandered in amongst the tall Karri’s looking for compositions to paint and soaking up the varied colours and textures that make this ecosystem unique.
This painting started with a dark, dark underpainting, to create the effect of the forest shadows and depth of field. I slowly then, layer on layer, came forward with the light. There is no better way to create the complexity of the forest than layering the chaos of the branches and leaves and understory.
